The Bengals have wrapped up the latest round of OTAs, and they'll hit the field again June 10-12 for their mandatory minicamp. During these offseason workouts, rookies and seldom-used reserves will be getting more snaps than they will in training camp and the preseason.

NFL teams tend to have a good feel on what they have in their veterans, so they want to give younger players a chance to showcase themselves more to earn more reps in training camp, more snaps in preseason games and possibly a spot on the 53-man roster.

Leon Hall is one of the game's best slot-cornerbacks, but while he's rehabbing from another torn Achilles, Darqueze Dennard has been the primary slot-corner in OTAs.

When he comes out, it's been seventh-rounder LaVelle Westbrooks and Chris Lewis-Harris have been getting snaps there. Lewis-Harris is entering his third year with e Bengals after spending most of the past two seasons on the practice squad.

Drafted out of Georgia Southern as cornerback/safety combo player, Westbrooks needs to have a good showing in the preseason to make the roster.

In just 10 starts in his senior season, Westbrooks registered 37 tackles, seven pass-breakups and two interceptions.

Assuming the Bengals keep Hall, Dennard, Terence Newman, Adam Jones and Dre Kirkptrick, there's room for just 1-2 more corners on the 53-man roster.

Westbrooks, Lewis-Harris, R.J.Stanford and Onterio McCalebb figure to be fighting for those spots.
