Jack Tatum who was a punishing Ohio State & NFL defensive player has passed July 27th at the age of 61.

An author of books after his time in the league, Tatum won a Super Bowl with John Madden and was arguably best known as the man who paralyzed Darryl Stingley of the New England Patriots.

I'll remember his excellence in Football & how he helped the Raiders to have "Commitment to Excellence" with his overall performance.

I really hope that modern medicine will help current NFL players live longer. It seems that so many of the 60's-70's player die way before their time. It's depressing.

Good point msclemons.

The modern medicine is a good way for players to get the right attention from doctors but unfortunately that's a very hot button topic in recent years for the coverage that seems to drag on despite some small progress.

Mike Ditka among others have been a vocal leader for change.

I'm sure there were many, many shows today with interviews about Jack Tatum. This show with Ronnie Lott I thought was really touching:
