Penthouse to Outhouse - Week 13

There were a lot of awesome performances this week which made it tough to get down to 5 Suite guests. RB's have kind of taken a back seat with all of the passing going on these days, but this week RB's excelled. This is the first week that I did not invite a QB to the Suites. Aaron Rodgers has attained "Elvis" status and gets his own Penthouse floor (just like Elvis in Las Vegas), so he doesn't qualify for a suite. Here are my Penthouse Sweets and my Outhouse Stinkers for Week #13. Any other nominees?
Penthouse Sweets
(Suite 1A) San Francisco 49ers Team - The 49ers won their first divisional
title since 2002 in a dominating fashion. The defense recorded a shutout while Alex Smith went 17-23 (74%) for 274 yds and 2 TDs. Jim Harbaugh has done a terrific job coaching and teaching this team. Congrats to the 49ers!!
(Suite 2A) Denver Broncos Team - After a 1-4 start, nobody including the entire Broncos organization thought that this team would be in first place with 4 games to go. The accolades start with John Fox (who deserves to be coach of the year), then they go down to Tim Tebow and then to the defense. Another nail biting win from the Tebow led Broncos has set them up to win their division. This team has won 5 straight and truly believes in itself. I hope that they win their division and host a playoff game, that would be a made for TV storyline.
(Suite 3A) Ray Rice - Rice, who has been forgotten at times this season, ran over, through, and around the Cleveland Browns defense. Ray carried 29 times for 204 yds and 2 TD's while leading the Ravens to a win that keeps them in first place.
(Suite 4A) Chris Johnson/Marshawn Lynch - They get to share a Suite this week with similar numbers. Lynch led his Seahawks to a win over the Eagles by running for 148 yds and 2 TD's on 22 carries. Lynch was definitely in beast mode on his first TD run. Johnson ran around and through the Buffalo Bills for 153 yds and 2 TD's on 23 carries. Johnson is back, which is great news for Tennessee fans and fantasy football owners.
(Suite 5A) Pittsburgh Steelers Special Teams - Got to give a shout out to Special Teams coach Al Everest and his boys. They don't get much attention unless they screw up, but this week they blocked a FG, recovered a fumble on the kickoff, and returned a punt 60 yds for a TD. This team is priming itself for the playoffs, and a Super Bowl run. Dangerous team right now.
(Special Weekend Stay Suite) Rob Gronkowski - Scored 3 TD's in their win while establishing a new NFL record for most TD's by a TE in a single season. There have been a lot of great TE's to play this game, setting this record in only his 2nd season is definitely worthy of a stay in "The Suites".
(Special One Night Stay Suite) - For 1 play, Minnesota's rookie TE Kyle Randolph and GB Packers WR Jordy Nelson were spectacular. Randolph's TD catch over, through, and around the DB was jaw dropping. Nelson's artistic, acrobatic, graceful, spinning catch on the boundary was a thing of beauty. These catches would make any highlight reel. Well done guys!!
Outhouse Stinkers
9. NFL Officiating - Did you see as many bad calls as I did? How was CJ Spillar's fumble through the end zone called a TD? He was out of the end zone when he recovered the ball! In the Balt-Cle game, a Browns WR catches a pass, takes about 3-4 steps with the ball, then drops the ball which Baltimore recovers. The officials called it an incomplete pass ... what is a catch these days? The officials don't even know! And finally, in the Det- NO game, just before halftime ... New Orleans blocks a FG by clearly being offsides. How could the officials not see it? I'm sure that you saw other blown calls as well.
8. DeSean Jackson - Are you tired of seeing his act? I am.
7. Trent Williams (OT) / Fred Davis (TE) - These two Redskins thought that they could beat the random drug testing ... Not So Fast. Williams and Davis have been suspended for 4 games for testing positive for marijuana during the season. How stupid can one be? Risking 4 paychecks (a lot of money) and hurting your team for a little reefer(OK, maybe a lot of reefer) ... asinine!!!
6. Atlanta Falcon Defensive Penalties - The Falcons defense scored two 2 touchdowns but had them both negated because of a defensive penalty. They lost to Houston by 7. Think they might want those penalties back?
5. Vince Young - Subbing for Michael Vick with the Eagles season hanging by a very thin thread, Vince went out and threw 4 int's (1 a pick 6) against the Seahawks. Getting blown out by the Seahawks wasn't all Vince's fault, but his 4 picks didn't help the cause.
4. Caleb Hanie - In a tough situation, Hanie was awful. The Bears loss to the Chiefs at home could cost them the playoffs. Hanie went 11-24 (46%) for 133 yds with 3 picks. He led the offense to a meager 3 points, when all he needed to do, was lead them to 11 points to get the win. There are no other good options at QB for the Bears, they are stuck with Hanie. Martz and Hanie have to be better.
3. Oakland Raiders Team - In a game that they needed to win, the Raiders shot themselves in the foot with undisciplined play. Penalties and selfish acts have been the achilles heel of this organization for years. It has been the main factor to this team not making the playoffs for some time. Richard Seymour throwing a punch and getting ejected from the game was a selfish act. These types of acts will cost this team wins during the final stretch of the season. When will the Raiders learn? The Lions are a mirror image of the Raiders this season, neither team will make the playoffs!!
2. Dallas Cowboys Offense - Scored only 13 points against a poor Arizona defense. Had a chance to take a 2 game lead over the Giants with a win, but with 8 trips into Arizona territory, they came away with only 13 points. The final trip being at the end of regulation when time management was handled poorly. The timeout called just before the FG wasn't the problem because Ken Whisenhunt was probably going to call a timeout anyway. The mistake was not taking a timeout with 25 seconds to go when they had 2 timeouts left. They should have tried to get closer for the FG, long FG's are no guarantee.
1. BCS Bowl Committee - The system is Flawed. It Stinks! FIX IT!!!
* The Colts and the Rams have attained permanent residency in the basement outhouse. They need Erin Brockovich to get them out.
Mike Vick Says Critics Don't Know Anything
Rodgers is a great QB. I'm positive you too believe that line play is critical to a QB's...
