• Browns, Weeden Agree to Contract



    The Cleveland Browns and rookie first round draft pick QB Brandon Weeden have agreed to a contract just in time for the start of training camp. The terms of the contract are not being disclosed at the moment but NFL.com's Ian Rappoport is reporting, via a source with knowledge of the situation, that Weeden will receive partial guarantees in year four of his rookie deal.

    UPDATE: The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot is reporting that Weeden's contract is worth $8.1 million with three years guaranteed and a partial guarnatee for year number four.l

      Weeden needs to start this season because of his age and the time that McCoy got. They have to get the ball rolling ASAP. I think that Holmgren knows that you do it now and not later. Nonetheless, Holmgren's job is on the line and he's got to make 2012 a good outing.

      Got to know this kid when he was at Oklahoma St. Browns won't have to worry about him off the field. Married, very stable....goes home to his wife every night. Players at State called him Pops. Has a strong arm, quick mind, I think he has a chance. His age does dictate that you have to find out right away about him.
