    It's day one, but Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News has already written that Mark Sanchez outshined Tim Tebow in the first practice.

    Of course, this is the first story of many like it to come. The Jets sound like they had many reasons to get Tim Tebow, including inspiring his own teammates and others. He may be used as a wildcat quarterback, a punt protector and more. One other reason may have been to push Mark Sanchez, who has been a recipient of a lot of criticism over the past few of seasons despite having two AFC Championship appearances. Of course, those people do silly things like look at statistics.

    The consequence of the action was the media exposure that Tebow brings with him. The Jets, of course, have a coach who is not afraid of being part of the media, who also called himself the best defensive coach in football today. It's only natural that camp began with a story about a 40 yard pass.

      If I were a Jet I wouldn't stand anywhere near Sanchez. You just know a bolt of light is going to hit him at some point this year.

      Sanchez is clearly the starting QB for the team and I don't think the Jets want to replace him with Tebow. The problem is, Sanchez had a horrible year last year and he is still young, so the whole Tebow thing, which I am starting to believe they brought Tebow in to try and make the offense more dynamic, just creates a huge circus, because of the New York media and the age of Tebow. Giving Tebow reps is a big problem though. If you brought him in to make the team more dynamic, then don't give him any reps at QB to reinforce your view.

      If Tebow had come in to a team with an established QB, there wouldn't be a circus, but at the same time, I'm not sure the established QB would have remained silent about it. I think Sanchez has handled this as best as he could under the circumstances.
