  • New York Media Out-Does Itself

Several versions about the idea that cities and teams should have a grace period of non-complaint after championships have been written across the internet. The New York media is not one of the groupings that believe in this concept at all.

The Giants lost a game at home where they are a .500 team over the last five seasons. They lost to a team that seems to be getting in stride offensively. They lost after they spent a week dealing with losing power, losing vehicles and finding family members. They lost and still have a 2.5 game lead in their division. After the loss, they are three games over .500 and are in line to compete for a home playoff game. Maybe they don't want one. They tend to do well without them

Of course, the New York media immediately started to question the team today. Now, there is some merit to the argument that the Giants do tend to swoon after good starts under Coughlin. The team has only been 28-37 under their red-faced leader during the second half of the season. I just think the media could have waited one more week before pouncing on the story.

    IN OTHER NEWS:

    Eagles lose Herremans
Peanut Tillman is having a kid, may miss Texans game.
Suh is now begging for stats.
    Aaron Hernandez is back.

The media has to have something to complain about. In other news, Florio said today that players need to plan their children around the NFL season. They should never miss a game for the birth of a child.

What did Antonio Cromartie have to say to this?

Florio is an idiot. I don't really lambast media members, but this idiot takes up stupid causes (remember the Aaron Rodger hates cancer patient?).

So Peanut should either refrain from having unprotected sex with his wife from January to May, have her abort the child? What an idiot... it's just a game.

In this day an age of irresponsible sports parenting, Tillman should be praised for his giving the birth of his daughter the importance he is.

      Agreed 100%.

The New York media is right. The Giants haven't won a Super Bowl in almost 9 months and are the 4th worst team in their division.

What a shock, the NY media being hypersenstive about a NY team. I never thought I would see that.

The Giants in recent years have been a roller coaster ride. Win lose win win lose lose. It's been so crazy that Coughlin is getting fired every other week. I think the media jumps the gun in some instances and it snowballs from there. I remember a time when the media reported the news impartially. Today, the reports are more opinion than straight fact.

Yeah, his blogger roots need need to generate page views (hint, hint Andy!) lead him to take a snarky position on most of the stuff he writes. Sometimes it's a bit much. Actually, a lot of times.
