We all know that Braylon Edwards and the New York Jets did not part on the most amicable of terms. We also know that Bryalon Edwards is prone to both saying and doing stupid things, for lack of a more blunt term. The combination of these two facts, one would assume, led to Edwards tweeting this on December 4:
That's right, Braylon Edwards is returning to the New York Jets after being claimed off of waivers; following his release from the Seattle Seahawks this past Monday. Edwards started the first game for Seattle this season against the Arizona Cardinals, but only managed to get on the field for more than twenty snaps on offense in one other game following that, ironically enough against the Jets in Week 10.
The Jets were willing to let bygones be bygones due to the increasingly bleak options they have currently on the team. Santonio Holmes, their #1 receiver going into 2012, was lost for the season in Week 4 with a Lisfranc foot injury. Second-round pick from this past April, Stephen Hill, recently suffered a sprained LCL and will be out for the next couple weeks at least. A former fourth-round pick of the Miami Dolphins, Clyde Gates, was showing some potential before being sidelined indefinitely with a concussion. That left Jeremy Kerley and Chaz Schilens as the only healthy receivers on the team who have seen any meaningful playing time this year. Well, unless you ask Antonio Cromartie of course.
So despite the Jets still somehow being mathematically alive for the Playoffs, you have to assume that Braylon Edwards is none too happy about reuniting with the same "idiots" who he believes have caused such a massive black hole of dysfunction, right?
