• Tangled Webb

Word is leaking out in Chicago that famed left tackle J'Marcus Webb is facing drug charges for some wacky tabacky related offenses. Webb has been known to be one of the main culprits for the problems on the Chicago Bears offensive line. This news cannot help his future in the Windy City.

Webb, who has played left tackle for the better part of the last three seasons, allowed 14 sacks and committed 13 penalties in 2011 and has since been considered one of the worst at his position. The general consensus is that Webb has kept his job because the Bears just have not been able to find a decent replacement. Phil Emery has been on record describing the lack of options in 2012 and exactly why they did try to do more in the 2012 NFL Draft. Chris Williams never was good enough to play left tackle and has since been released by the Bears. Gabe Carimi followed Williams' path of needing surgery during his first season in the league and has struggled at right tackle since returning. With the Bears GM and new coach admitting the need to respond to the holes on the team's offensive line, getting arrested for anything at all is not going to help Webb's stock.

What weed does to short term memory has been well-documented, but there is a lack of studies as to what it does to slow feet. The Bears may want to make that investment themselves and privately test their offensive line during the season.

It's almost certain the Steelers make no attempt at re signing max Starks, who may not be the best lt, but he's decent and durable. Those attributes have put him in a position to sign elsewhere. He's a ok lt, but we have too many top picks on our line to keep him, especially with how his play has elevated his interest.

We wouldn't even consider more than the vet minimum (what we've paid him 2 years running) , but teams like the bears, eagles, and Steelers west should consider it. IMHO all will. He's probably going tosteelers west in az. How much they pay him 100% predicated on others interest..

Once the report is allowed to be leaked, this does not happen very often, but the charges are now dropped.

I think someone pulled the trigger too early. Normally, once the info is leaked on these things, the info is good. That is why we find out weeks later on some cases.

    By the way:

(3a) Unless an illegal bat by the offense results in a loss of down, which on a fourth down play would mean a turnover (plus the ball placed either at the spot of the foul or if it... Go to last post

I more or less agree with all of this, but I'd like to expand on a couple of points here:

    (1) Wright definitely did it on purpose. Unless he's the dumbest man alive or has a broken left hand, no... Go to last post

You cannot assume this is a certainty. If a football was round, you could, but that ball could have bounced in any direction when it next hit the turf. Go to last post

You are right that on the play, it looks like there wasn't a Lion around. But that doesn't mean there was a zero percent chance that a Lion could not have recovered it. And I am always... Go to last post

I don't blame the officials for this at all.

Let's not forget that not 1, not 2, not 3, but 6 different NFL head coaches gave the competition commitee proposals to allow expanded replay for... Go to last post

    Score. More. Points.

That way, this conversation is moot.

So here's where I come down on this, and I may be completely foolish for thinking so.
