• 2016 FootballPros.com Upset Special Challenge: Week Four or Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad

Two outta three ain't so bad. In today's NFL 1-2 seems to be the new 2-1. Games 4-7, in this humble football writer's opinion, are where middling teams dealing with injuries, new coaches, etc. have the opportunity to get dialed in.

You guys sitting at 0-3? Wake up and realize you are driving a 1977 AMC Pacer with a pile o'miles and two leaky wheels, bad brakes and a close to blown head gasket. Good luck pushing that turd into the playoffs.

    Rules:
    • One pick per week
    • Your chosen team must be at least a (+3) underdog (Only games listed in this column are eligible)
    • Your chosen team must win the game outright (no 'pushes' or 'covers')
    • Season winner is the one with the most upsets correctly chosen between Week #1 through the Conference Championship Games (20 weeks all together)
    • There will be a points system to determine a winner in the event of a tie
    • Points will be accumulated by adding the game spreads for your correct picks (if you take Carolina (+4.5) and Carolina wins, you will be awarded a win and 4.5 points). Be careful making picks based on the number of points possible. Points only count if you are tied for the total wins lead when the whole contest is finished.
    • The No Upsets Option: Predict correctly that 'No Upsets' will occur in any given week and you will be awarded one win and a point total equal to the sum of all the spreads in that week's Upset Special. If you wish to exercise the 'No Upsets' Option, that prediction is due by 5 minutes prior to kickoff of the first game of the week in question. This includes Thursday Night Football or Saturday games. The 'No Upsets' option is confined to the Upset Possibilities listed in this article.
    • Picks are due no later than 5 minutes before the scheduled start of the broadcast time for your game. The FootballPros.com time stamp on your post is gospel.
    • Spread lines, once posted, will remain static throughout the week. This isn't The Sports Book at Caesar's Palace, after all.
    Let's. Get it. ON!!

I know this is not a CFB thread, but this Shakespearean ode to the Stanford offensive line is a fun read.

I am half-tempted to take the Bears this week. The Lions are down Ansah, Levy, Ebron, Marvin Jones and Ameer Abdullah. It's a friggin' M.A.S.H. Unit down in Allen Park this week.

The Vikings look great, but we're all a little too happy with them right now.

      Trae Waynes, meet Odell Beckham.

The Giants will prove once again that they let us down when our expectations are high, and surprise us when the expectations are low.

But for the love of IUP-- Ben McAdoo, open up the offense!!! I'm stealing this stat from somewhere, but last week, Manning had 21 targets to Beckham/Shepard/Cruz for 264 yards. He had 17 targets to his TEs and RBs that resulted in 86 yards and 2 INTs, including the game-ender.

On that team, there's never a reason to give nearly half of the passing targets to Will Tye and the like. I really want to respect a coach that I went to school with and is from my general neck of the woods (as it turns out), and I know it's early, but there's nothing to suggest that he's good at being the head coach of a professional football team.

      OFFICIAL PICK CHANGE!!!

I still think the Giants are looking good on Monday night, but I'm going to pivot to a home dog that's not getting any love. I'm thinking a crazy day in Tampa may be forthcoming. We've got Trevor Semien on the road, Mike Evans will be matched up mostly with Bradley Roby (PFF's #1 WR/CB mismatch of the week) and Charles Sims is a better version of Charcandrick West, who put up 69/1 rushing and 92/1 receiving against the Broncos last year.

It's a bit scary, but I'm jumping on this limb. Give me the Bucs (+3.5)
