Introducing------NBC Sports Network!

Yeah Man & think about the college football and basketball games they could get. I'm certainly excited about that.

Bit of a tightrope to walk in terms of carriage and additional fees, as the NFL Network can attest. Carriers aren't awed by NFL games, it seems.

Depends where Thursday night NFL goes....

I'm happy to see this albeit from kind of a left field angle.
I'm one of the 19 people left who still watches IndyCar races.
Can't wait to see NBC/Versus/Peacock Sports Network take all IndyCar broadcasts from ABC/ESPN.
(And any other sports programming for that matter.)

Have you seen NBC Sports Network after it's January 2nd debut? Not going well far as it's format hasn't changed. You don't try your hand at ESPN and not have "NBC Sports Talk" be a repeat at 11 PM ET IN January when there is NFL coach firings, NCAA Bowl games, NFL playoffs coming around, NBA games and such. On tonight, there is double doses of "NFL Turning Point with Dan Patrick" at 11 PM ET & "NBC Sports Talk" is only a half an hour at 12 AM ET. Not Cool.

It may take them a while to get that channel sorted. I don't think anyone at NBC or Comcast has experience at running a 24-hour sports channel (I don't count NBC Universal.) It may be that they end up hiring someone from ESPN.

That NBC SportsTalk show is palatable at best. The segments with Florio & King are low budget renderings of the King/Florio spots during FNIA/SNF. Not bad. But not particularly good, either. Just kinda there.

The rest? Meh. Not doing much for me.

Good point but with all that Comcast money, I think that they could do much better than this. We'll see how it goes. I just noticed: Oprah launched OWN on Jan. 1, 2011 [01/01/11]; NBC Sports launched NBC Sports Network on Jan. 2, 2012 [01/02/12].

Good Point. It feels like each night is dedicated to a sport. Gotta mix it up let alone have more options at all.
