    Minor roster updates:

Nigel Bradham has taken over the strongside starting linebacker job from Arthur Moats. I like Moats, and love his effort. He is miscast in any but a 3-4 OLB pass-rushing role, and it shows, especially in coverage and in stretch runs to the wide side of the field. He can't get to the ball under control as well as other guys can, and has consistently been a half step behind in coverage. Solid in the kicking game, though.

Ron Brooks is being phased into practice again, from the designated-to-return IR. He is going to be a good one, and will probably push Rogers out of the slot a little bit when he gets back. The question becomes who goes when he comes back. The two prime candidates from my perspective are first Kirk Morrison, who has lost two years of his career here, even though he is better than the younger guys the coaches have wanted to play ahead of him. Maybe they are doing the Andra Davis thing with him, making him a very highly paid coaching intern, since he is never active on game day. Second candidate is John Potter, the kickoff specialist, who isn't maintaining the nice 70% TB rate of August and September. Nothing to be done when they return one from eight yards deep, but an increasing number of his kicks are going no better than four and five yards deep when they get in the end zone at all, and Josh Cribbs showed that you can get it out past the twenty on this coverage unit.

Apparently, PFF, The Buffalo News, numerous fans, and all sorts have figured out that Aaron Williams is a target:

You may also note that from this conversation with Williams, they've gotten in his head. He is gonna have a sad end to the season, from an emotional standpoint.

Those of us who got to watch a lot of the stuff in the last six weeks are not surprised that PFF has graded Mark Anderson as the worst FA signing of the year. As Bears fans have noted, he is a situational pass rusher, and disappointment follows a decision to play him any other way. The Bills overpaid for him, and have since overvalued his skills. I fully expect the defense to be better without him, except perhaps on third and very long.

    Yikes!

Although I must say that when the Bills announced his signing my first thought was "he had 10 sacks last year?"

I am optimistic about this game, although if I had Chris Johnson on my fantasy team, I would be REALLY optimistic.
