I think this rule is abused. Watching the CLE/DAL game, what was Ward supposed to do? Just let Ogletree catch it and stand there? Same in the Cincy game. What was Elam supposed to do? Just stand there and let Greem catch the ball and not hit him? That rule is ridiculous to me. There was no helmet to helmet. Shoulder to shoulder hits both times.
Agreed. I hate the defenseless WR rule. I'd just drill them as hard as I can and take the 15 yards. Gonna get it anyway.

The call on Green was crap. Elam put a good stick on him and they flagged it. He made the right play. But the NFL is pushing safety, so mo matter how crappy the calls are it won't change. I do feel that he should not be fined for it after the league reviews it.
If someone challenges you, accept the challenge. Be consistent and persistent, and do it with a smile on your face. Then let them know exactly what that smile means.
