Exactly what is considered a "Deep" playoff run?

So I keep hearing phrases like, "Go deep in the playoffs," or "Make a deep playoff run," and it makes me wonder- Exactly what is considered "Deep?" There's exactly three rounds in the playoffs before you get to the championship game, and only two rounds if you get a bye. So what is considered going deep? Is getting through wildcard weekend and into the divisional round considered "Making a deep run?" Or do you have to make it to the conference championships? Where is the line?

It really is a stupid term when applied to the NFL. It means something in the NBA or NHL where the playoffs last for a couple of months.

It is slicing the bologna rather thin, but in the NFL, I think "Deep in the Playoffs" is one short of "Made it to the Superbowl" which is one short of "Superbowl Champions"

So Conference Championship game is "Deep in the Playoffs"
