Wow, very interesting. I think Alex Smith can really help that team if he goes there. He's very good at not screwing up and occasionally good at making plays. Just what the Chiefs need. (No sarcasm brackets. That was 100% serious.)

I am guessing its going to be a second round pick. Way too much to give up for him, but some team will be desperate and way overpay for a guy that as you say people forgot how bad he was.

I think Alex Smith is somewhere between bad and good, but we're all too polarized. He's worth a 3rd to me.

I'd even go further than Flynn (but stick with Seattle) and bring up Charlie Whitehurst. Dude had like 4 attempts career and got SD pretty descent compensation.

I think it's either 1 or 3, 2 seems too cheap. If anything it'll be a conditionl 3rd with a 6th...IE: if KC makes the playoffs, it's a 3rd, if not its a 4th.

It's become semi-official. Alex Smith will be traded to the Kansas City Chiefs once the league year begins on March 12, according to reports. The compensation will be KC's second-round selection in 2013 (#34 overall) and a conditional mid-round pick in 2014.
