    video in the link.

NFL players, Wish Kids and more than 30 cookoff teams participated in the 1st Annual Friends of the Make-A-Wish BBQ. Ten kids competed in one cookoff with Make-A-Wish winner judging the tasty treats and handing out medals to winners, but Ellena Gutierez knows how much a granted wish can mean.

Gutierez had her wish to visit Disney World early in 2014 , and she says, “It really changes the kids outlook on everything and it is a great honor and it gives you hope.”

“Team Zeke” was on hand for all the festivities. Ezekiel Ortiz, 10, was diagnosed with leukemia in November of 2013, and he says, “My dream is to go to Cincinnati, Ohio and meet the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals, Andy Dalton. It would probably be the most special thing I’ve ever had happen in my life, if that were to happen.”

It happened when the Bengals and former Katy quarterback said that Ortiz and his family would get to hang out with Bengals sometime this year.

Former Houston Texans were, also, on hand to help with some “Play 60″ time which gets youngsters fit by doing different physical activities.

Amobi Okoye, Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman says, “It’s an opportunity to interact with one another and interact with me and my fellow you know celebrity players and whatever and just an opportunity for them to enjoy.”

Wade Smith, former Texans offensive lineman, adds, “It’s awesome. Anytime you can use your celebrity or so-called celebrity that we have to help and be a positive influence on the generation coming behind us, it’s always awesome.”

Ortiz already wanted Dalton to know, “You’re my favorite quarterback in the world Andy.”

That’s one happy kid and we say this event definitely scored a touchdown.

Paul Dehner Jr.: #Bengals coach tell me Jason Campbell's veteran presence will be huge for Andy Dalton. Extremely optimistic! #NFL.

It speaks volumes what Dalton has done without an on-field, veteran mentor. I personally think Kitna was pivotal in Carson's development, and it's eye-opening to realize Dalton's never had that... He's never had distractions like Ocho either, so it hasn't been all bad.

Between Campbell and Hue, I think it will greatly help Dalton. Not to mention just being another year more experienced.

I dont know about total numbers, but I predict a QB rating in the 93-95 range or so.

I think House will make a difference too. Tightening up his mechanics, even just a little could go a long way in improving his long ball accuracy. And with guys like Green, Jones, and Eifert, that makes this offense scary good.

yea it seems House has already had an impact. People are saying Dalton's ball is more accurate and has more zip, because of improved mechanics.

Also, while much is made of Dalton's longball, he was actually 5 for 7 on passes over 40yds last season. It's his timing on the 20-39 yders that needs the most work.

I'm also intrigued by the bit about how House sped up his release as well. I seem to remember some pretty frustrating passes batted on the line, and some open receivers he could have completed balls to if he'd just gotten it out quicker.
