Over 40 if they cut PAC...and with almost no big dollar internal FAs to sign if they let Eifert walk.

This is one of those years there really is no excuse not to get 3-4 outside FA starters or via trade. Won’t happen though.

Only $300,000 of Bengals DT Chris Baker's 1-year, $3 million contract is actually guaranteed. He gets $1.5 million in base salary with a $300,000 signing bonus, a $500,000 roster bonus and a $50,000 workout bonus. $200,000 of the roster bonus is given to him if he is on the 53-man roster in Week 1, while he has additional roster bonuses of up to $300,000 if he is on the active 46-man roster ($18,750/game). He also has up to $600,000 in not likely to be earned playtime incentives available. His cap number is $2.4 million.

Via the NFLPA, the #Bengals have $17.4M in cap room left (includes their 10.6M carryover). That ranks 18th in the league and $3.4M less than the average.

Assuming they spend some to get extensions for guys like Atkins, Dunlap, Kroft, Dennard, etc. and counting the few million their draft picks will cost, they are fairly close up against the cap.

I'd still like them to go after a Safety like Reid and cut MJ to pay for it.

The Rams are working on a contract extension for Aaron Donald. IMO the Bengals are in trouble if they're waiting for the market price for Geno to be set by others. The Rams are temporarily...uniquely built. Their two biggest offensive stars are both working on early years of rookie contracts. Early word is Donald is asking for at least 20m per. Probably more. Donalds camp making noise about him wanting to be the highest paid player in the NFL.
