Thread: Leinart to Houston

    Leinart to Houston

Reports that Leinart has signed with the Texans, whose QB led the league in passing yards last year. He certainly has no chance to start in the near future barring injury, though Schaub's had his share of those.

So we have some hope for a Leinart vs. Painter duel in week 8? Or a Leinart vs. Young rematch later in the season? Oh yeah baby, bring it on! (where's the :gag: emote?)

Given Shaub's tendency to get nicked up you'd think the Texans would want a more seasoned vet as backup.

What Clem? No faith in Dan Orlovksy?

To quote Andy, I'm torn between "no way" and "no #$%ing way".

Just my take... "no #$%ing way" sounds way more like a fed flag then "no way".
My hypocrisy goes only so far.

There are certainly worse options than Lienert in at spot start QB for the Texans. Those options may be nuclear war, a lockout, and the Texans moving to Memphis, in that order, but definitely worse options.

At what point is it safe to say Leinhart will never start? It's been what - five years? I know he's been behind some tough competition but that's part of earning the starting position is beating others for it, which he's proven unable to do.

I personally hope he lands on his feet in Houston, but he's not starting there anytime soon either.

Dan Orlovsky is (for some inexplicable reason) being paid $9mil to be the backup over three years. Leinart likely won't get to start ahead of him. Kubiak is married to Orlovsky for the time being.
