    What to see in Chicago

So my best friend is getting his MBA at Northwestern, so I'll be visiting him at Chicago. Since I've never gone to a live NFL game, I decided to plan things so as to catch a good one.

That means I'll be at Soldier Field watching the Bears rip the packers in week three. I'll be staying till Friday in Chicago, so after watching Da' Bears, was else is there to see in Chi-town? I'll be taking my 3 year old godson and my friend's wife on this tour, but thought I'd ask the natives

Also, how do I prepare appropriately for that MNF game. I've heard of tailgating, but never been a part of it.

As a kid my faves were Lincoln Park Zoo and the lakefront, We used to rent rowboats at the park. Hope you have good weather.

Chicago Aquarium is good and the Sears "Don't call it Willis" Tower now has decks that jut out a couple feet from the top of the observation deck. Funky feeling, especially that first step. DePaul is a nice campus to walk around. The Shopping mile on Michigan Ave is always a place to go. Just taking a walk from the Chicago River North to the Water Tower can be interesting. Take a boat ride from the Aquarium to the Navy Pier.

If you don't have a hotel yet I can recommend a place to stay near the most important El lines since I have to fly in for all my games.

There has been work on the El lines, especially the ones going to O' Hare, though a Chicagoan can tell you for sure how much work is left to do.

EDIT: Have a pork chop at Ditka's. It's right behind the Water Tower.

Are the clubs still on Rush St.? You've got the awesome street performers on Maxwell St. as well. A promoter filmed one of my sets and was going to get me a spot there. Been waiting for fifteen years now but haven't heard back.

Rush & Maxwell are still the hotspots as far as I know. Been a few yrs for me tho so other's here may have newer ideas or Google a few of the places you're interested in to check who's playing.

Best bars in the world! Nowhere else would I rather step into a bar and hoist a few and talk football, Green Bay included. No homer.
