    Week 10 Update:

    *Jerome Boger: 180 (150 accepted, 26 declined, 4 offsetting)
    *Ron Torbert: 172 (142 accepted, 20 declined, 10 offsetting)
    *Jeff Triplette: 159 (138 accepted, 21 declined)
    *Ed Hochuli: 157 (132 accepted, 19 declined, 6 offsetting)
    *Terry McCauley: 156 (130 accepted, 22 declined, 4 offsetting)
    *Clete Blakeman: 148 (133 accepted, 13 declined, 2 offsetting)
    *John Parry: 147 (126 accepted, 14 declined, 7 offsetting)
    *John Hussey: 145 (123 accepted, 16 declined, 6 offsetting)
    **Carl Cheffers: 143 (123 accepted, 13 declined, 7 offsetting)
    **Tony Corente: 142 (114 accepted, 22 declined, 6 offsetting)
    **Craig Wrolstad: 141 (116 accepted, 13 declined, 2 offsetting)
    Gene Steretore: 140 (111 accepted, 22 declined, 7 offsetting)
    **Walt Anderson: 139 (113 accepted, 16 declined, 10 offsetting)
    **Pete Morelli: 131 (113 accepted, 18 declined)
    *Bill Vinovich: 120 (98 accepted, 18 declined, 4 offsetting)
    **Walt Coleman: 117 (105 accepted, 10 declined, 2 offsetting)
    **Brad Allen: 116 (100 accepted, 13 declined, 3 offsetting)

Every crew has had at least one off week, now. except for Steretore.

As the season progresses, we're seeing a lot of reversion to the mean. You should expect 16 to 17 total flags for any game you watch. That makes Boger's 20 per game stand out even more.

As for Boger, he did have the week off. However, even though Ron Torbert's crew threw 24 flags (and that was not the highest for the week!), Torbert is still 8 behind Boger. Boger's flag happyness looks even more impressive - in a bad way - now.

Boger is the only crew at 20+ per game. Four crews are under 15. Coleman (14.6), Allen (14.5), Steretore (14), Vinovich (13.3).

Every crew except Steretotre (79.3), is in the 80s for accepted flags.

Two games had the 6+ differental. The Browns had 12 to the Steelers 5, and KC had 11 to Denver's 5.

The Bills had just 5 penalties this week, but still lead the NFL with 90. Minnesota continues to play smart with just 48 penalties for the year.

    Week 11 Update:

    *Jerome Boger: 202 (167 accepted, 31 declined, 4 offsetting)
    *Jeff Triplette: 181 (157 accepted, 24 declined)
    *Terry McCauley: 175 (147 accepted, 24 declined, 4 offsetting)
    *Ed Hochuli: 173 (145 accepted, 22 declined, 6 offsetting)
    **Ron Torbert: 172 (142 accepted, 20 declined, 10 offsetting)
    **Tony Corente: 164 (130 accepted, 25 declined, 9 offsetting)
    *Clete Blakeman: 163 (146 accepted, 15 declined, 2 offsetting)
    *John Parry: 161 (136 accepted, 18 declined, 7 offsetting)
    **Carl Cheffers: 156 (134 accepted, 15 declined, 7 offsetting)
    **Walt Anderson: 155 (126 accepted, 19 declined, 10 offsetting)
    **Craig Wrolstad: 155 (130 accepted, 13 declined, 2 offsetting)
    Gene Steretore: 154 (121 accepted, 24 declined, 9 offsetting)
    **John Hussey: 145 (123 accepted, 16 declined, 6 offsetting)
    **Pete Morelli: 140 (121 accepted, 19 declined)
    **Brad Allen: 135 (114 accepted, 16 declined, 5 offsetting)
    **Walt Coleman: 133 (117 accepted, 12 declined, 4 offsetting)
    **Bill Vinovich: 120 (98 accepted, 18 declined, 4 offsetting)

Jerome Boger rested his arm during his bye last week and came back in form. 22 flags for him. He passes 200 for the year, and is the only ref over 20 per game at 20.2. Three crews are at 15 or fewer. They are Brad Allen (15), Walt Coleman (14.7), and Bill Vinovich (13.3). Every crew is in the 80s for percentage accepted except for Tony Corente (79.3) and Gene Steretore (78.6).

Only one team was called for 6 or more penalties than the opponent. Denver was flagged 8 times and Chicago was not flagged at all.

Thanks to the Bills having only 5 accepted penalties for the second week in a row, the new leader is Tampa Bay with 97. Even with a sloppy game for them, the Vikings still have the fewest with 56.

    Week 12 Update:

    *Jerome Boger: 217 (181 accepted, 32 declined, 4 offsetting)
    *Jeff Triplette: 201 (172 accepted, 29 declined)
    *Terry McCauley: 193 (164 accepted, 25 declined, 4 offsetting)
    *Ed Hochuli: 190 (160 accepted, 24 declined, 6 offsetting)
    **Ron Torbert: 185 (155 accepted, 20 declined, 10 offsetting)
    *Clete Blakeman: 179 (161 accepted, 16 declined, 2 offsetting)
    **Tony Corente: 175 (141 accepted, 25 declined, 9 offsetting)
    **Carl Cheffers: 174 (145 accepted, 18 declined, 11 offsetting)
    **Walt Anderson: 171 (140 accepted, 21 declined, 10 offsetting)
    *John Parry: 170 (142 accepted, 21 declined, 7 offsetting)
    **Craig Wrolstad: 169 (140 accepted, 17 declined, 2 offsetting)
    **John Hussey: 161 (139 accepted, 16 declined, 6 offsetting)
    **Pete Morelli: 161 (141 accepted, 20 declined)
    *Gene Steretore: 154 (121 accepted, 24 declined, 9 offsetting)
    **Walt Coleman: 153 (135 accepted, 12 declined, 6 offsetting)
    **Brad Allen: 144 (123 accepted, 16 declined, 5 offsetting)
    **Bill Vinovich: 136 (110 accepted, 22 declined, 4 offsetting)

Regression to the mean continues as the season goes on. There are no crews at 20 or more calls per game. Jerome Boger had a slow day, for him, and drops down to 19.7 per game. Two crews are under 15. Brad Allen (14.4) and Bill Vinovich (13.6). Only one crew, Gene Steretore (at 78.6) is under 80 percent accepted.

This was the worst week for unblanced flags, as 4 teams were flagged 6 or more times more than the opponent:

    Bears 12, Packers 3
    Tampa 12, Colts 6
    Oakland 11, Tennessee 4
    San Francisco 13, Arizona 7

Tampa extends it's lead for most flags at 109, while the Steelers slip into last, at 64.
