One of his sons is an up and comer on the Bengals coaching staff.

That’s awesome, too. Love to see local guys do well.

It’s just so great to see a guy climb the ladder from high school assistant coach all the way to the NFL. It felt like the ladder wasn’t that tall. If you started as a high school coach, maybe you could climb to college. If you wanted to make it to the NFL, it felt like you needed to start at the college level... that’s how it felt to me, anyway.

Thought I heard or read somewhere that he was considering other options? Same with Jon Hayes but perhaps they are both back for 2018. I'm guessing that if the Bengals want to keep him, they'll need to elevate him to a full-fledged position coach.

Projected starting MLB Tuf Borland had some sort of Achilles’ tendon injury yesterday. OSU is not saying he’s done for the year, but I bet he probably is.

Is that necessarily a bad thing overall? Never been that impressed with his play. Racked up a bunch of tackles, but was slow and they were usually downfield.

Well, no, Borland isn’t an elite player. But he was the projected starter for a reason. And now a LB corps that wasn’t great to start with is lacking depth.
