Members of the Bengals First 50 will be revealed starting on Sunday and culminating with the top 10 being announced on Thursday, July 20.

Members of the Bengals First 50 will be revealed starting on Sunday and culminating with the top 10 being announced on Thursday, July 20.
The Bengals First 50 recognizes the top 50 retired Bengals players as voted on by fans and media. More than 160,000 fan votes were cast, which accounted for 50 percent of the results. The other 50 percent was determined by 24 members of the media who have covered or currently cover the team. The final list features the top 50 retired players who received the most votes, rather than a predetermined number of players at each position.
Ten players will be announced each day at 10:00 a.m. on Bengals.com with a video countdown featuring Bengals radio broadcasters Dan Hoard and Dave Lapham.

    Date Countdown
    Sunday, July 16 Nos. 50-41
    Monday, July 17 Nos. 40-31
    Tuesday, July 18 Nos. 30-21
    Wednesday, July 19 Nos. 20-11
    Thursday, July 20 Nos. 10-1

The Bengals First 50 and other Bengals Legends will be recognized during halftime ceremonies at every regular season home game, which will include video highlights and an on-field presentation. Each member of the Bengals First 50 will be invited to be the Bengals’ guest for a game. Additional Bengals Legends will have the opportunity to participate in the halftime ceremonies as well.

Throughout the weekend, the Bengals First 50 and other Bengals Legends will be able to reconnect in various settings, including watching a team practice and attending a special dinner with other invited guests the night before the game.

Gotta say, was really surprised by some of the first 10 picks... and not in a good way. Some really good choices but some others, it was smh.

Guess I'll see what the top 40 looks like. Everybody likes a winner, and Lap indicated that 60% or so came from the 2 SB teams.

Tim McGee was one I didn't get. Good player, yes... but top 50? He wouldn't have been in my top 150. Same with Stanford Jennings. A backup RB - who had a great play for sure, and one that may have been the most famous in team history. But c'mon. Top 50 in team history? And Lee Johnson? Good punter... OK. But top 50? Smdh. Simmons and Geathers, nice players. But... top 50? Yikes, if they belong there, we suck.

Funny, too. The pic they have of Tim McGee as Lap and Hoard are discussing it, isn't him. I swear it's Isaac Curtis. They had the same uní number, but Curtis had longer hair and wore a thicker 'stache at times.

Weren't the rankings largely (entirely?) based on fan vote?

Nope that was part of it, and they also polled media that was covering the team, from what I read.

I saw 31-40 and other than Solomon Wilcots, I thought it was a solid list.

Lol - they changed the pic for McGee so it's not Isaac Curtis. How embarrassing.
