Hue, in my opinion, has a legitimate reason to panic. Sashi gets to accrue picks, and look like a brilliant guy. Hue has to go out and look like an idiot with the least talented roster the league has seen in years. Sashi turns a Formula 1 car (Carson Wentz) into multiple picks that aren’t a franchise quarterback, and Hue has to explain why he can’t win the Indy 500 with the dozen Pintos Sashi drafted instead.

Yup. In the interview I watched Sashi talked about trusting the process a half dozen times. Left unspoken is how the Moneyball process involves deliberately tanking at least two years in a row as the team trades away veteran players in exchange for draft picks...all while the team ignores a mountain (100m) of unspent salary cap space. Small wonder Hue worries about losing the team when he's the one who has to ask young players to put their bodies on the line while the team deliberately loses nearly every game. This ain't baseball. A football player knows his career can be over on the very next play.

As for Haslam, he not only has to worry about losing much of his fanbase but also has to worry about his team becoming so much of a joke players may refuse to come to Cleveland if and when the team decides to start spending. And that may have begun happening already. Not only has Sam Darnold spoken openly about going back to school rather than play for Cleveland but some of the more believable rumors involving Garrappallo are based upon the belief that his agent told the Browns not to bother trading for him because Garrappalo wouldn't sign a contract extension.

Chris Simms claiming that the Bengals were prepared to sign Colin Kaepernick had the McCarron trade gone through.
