Even Boldin was quicker. He could go into the slot and run great routes and get open over the middle. We still need to see if Tate can do that. On the other two passes he saw, he was completely covered and had to push off on the second one.

That gear can be unlocked through precise route running.

We saw a bunch of exciting things on offense, but C-RG-RT had their issues again.

Glenn is definitely an upgrade. Price's athletcism is welcomed. The scheme is better.

But even the starting RT isn't good. Then you have somebody with health issues at LT.

Bengals go empty with two receivers in the slot. It sends out Mixon wide against an ILB. Easy presnap read and throw. Mixon does the rest.

Billy Price got out-lengthed a few times, but his athleticism and explosion are a welcomed addition. He climbed into the second level and got out in front on a pull with ease. Bengals haven't had that at Center.

I'd say the same. One bad snap worth noting, but otherwise solid.

Backside blocking on zone runs is the biggest difference in the Bengals run game through one game. The cutbacks and getting the RB one-cut and upfield at full speed should make them much more efficient.

The pass John Ross caught was an RPO. The very next play (fade pass to Ross) was also a run play. Good sign for Ross that he understands what he's supposed to do.

You guys are wild. Evans had perfect coverage on a slant where Shaheen ran a crisp route and used his big body to shield Evans away. Then on the long drag, Nickerson tried to reroute him (and did), but Shaheen got back onto his path effortless (sign of an athlete) & gained YAC.

Bengals played a bunch of Cover-2. This means 'middle of the field OPEN' presnap. The ball is going over the middle on these plays despite tight coverage and any receiving-TE has a huge advantage in today's NFL.

Right. Bengals say "you're not beating us deep" and they go from there

They're firing off the ball and trying to get the backside guys on the ground. Before, they tried to get out in front (but slowly). Now, they're cutting and driving past the lane if they can't get in front.

Westerman still looks like the Bengals second-best guard on the team.

Thanks! Gio has a strong role on the team. I think 55/45 split in snaps is possible, but a 65/35 split in carries is expected.
