The Green Bay Packers put their tenth player of the season on injured reserve today. OLB Mike Jones, a second year man who became the starter last year when Aaron Kampman went down, will have shoulder surgery. Jones has struggled with the injury since camp, but has played through it. When the Packers were awarded a waiver claim on former Jets nose tackle Howard Green. That will give them a back up for BJ Raji and another body on goal line, where they have been forced to play O lineman TJ Lang.
With ten players out for the year, including five starters, the Packer's front could be like Swiss cheese against the highly regarded Jets. New York gets back star corner Darrell Revis, and has only one other player, Calvin Pace, who's limited in practice. Rex Ryan pronounced his team's condition as "Healthy."
However, with a chance to get a leg up on the sliding Bears, and keep the Vikings in the rear view mirror, the Packers need to come out of the Big Apple with a win. How? Score more points. With a defense that is on the ropes, with significant injuries at D line, linebacker, and safety, it will be on Aaron Rodgers and Co. the rest of the way. The best way to play defense is with a lead, but no doubt the Jets have other plans. Should be a hard fought game.
