Cowboys' woes good for the fans?

An article at Yahoo! suggests that the Cowboys collapse might be good news for NFL fans in general. Jerry Jones is one of the leading figures pushing for a lockout but now he might be faced with a fanbase who won't come back in 2012.

I'm not sure who Yahoo! is (I miss Jimmy Raye for comedic value) but maybe he's got a point.

Interesting theory, but whoever is pushing for a lockout has already considered what it will take to rehab football's image after a lockout. While I could see Jones profits taking a hit, I don't see that as a factor. Also there are more issues than what the players make. Jones is also spearheading the drive to reform the revenue sharing system when it comes to merchandise. He still has more revenue streams than say small market owners. And it's Texas. Football rules.

I do not believe in this particular theory. Jerry Jones loves football, but in reality, his finances don't need it. Hardly any of the owners do. Let's do the story on the guys who need football.

Jones' late firing of Wade Phillips was very curious.

After 9.72 nanoseconds of analysis, it has been concluded that there was only one possible reason Phillips' termination took so long: Money. Jerrah was worried about having to drive the Brinks truck up to Bill Cowher's door right before the lockout...
