    * The Vikings and Chargers have played ten times overall. The series is tied with each team winning five games with the Vikings winning the last meeting 35-17 in 2007.
    * Minnesota’s only victory in San Diego came in 1981, 33-31.

SAN DIEGO -- Fullback Mike Tolbert's third touchdown, a 19-yard pass from Philip Rivers with 5:01 to play, lifted the San Diego Chargers to a 24-17 victory over Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Rivers rolled left and waited for Tolbert to get open inside the 5-yard line, then lobbed the winning pass. Rivers completed 33 of 48 passes for 335 yards and was intercepted twice. Tolbert also scored on a 7-yard run and had a 1-yard TD catch.

Peterson, who set the NFL single-game record with 296 yards against San Diego as a rookie in 2007, had 98 yards on 16 carries one day after signing a contract extension potentially worth $100 million.

Smart money says never bet the Chargers before November. I will stick with that thought and take the Vikes to cover that +9. Chargers by 7, 28-21.

Did Tolbert establish himself as the go-to RB? I think he already did, but this cemented it. He has more intangibles than Matthews in my opinion. Losing Castillo hurts the Bolts too.
