Ouch. Had em once, lasted about five hours for me. Worst long-term pain I've ever felt. Hope you enjoy the recovery. Don't overdo it on the cherry juice.

Thanks. Had them last October as well. That kicked in overnight, and only lasted about 3-3 1/2 hours. This went 11, and kicked in at 10:30 this morning. Didn't prefer either. I've had women that have gone through natural child birth tell me that they'd do that 100Xs over than go through another kidney stone.
Thankfully, I had to take off from work today to stay home with my 2 year old who has strep. The bad part is, he had to witness me quickly rise from a pain scale of 1 to 8, then jump to about a 13 and gradually rise to a 15 on a scale of 1-10. Scared the poor kid.

If you've never experienced them, I'd never wish it on anyone. But the pain isn't in passing the actual stone in your urine, it's the process from the kidney to the gull bladder. Once it passed, you don't even feel it leave. But it's incredible how the pain instantaneously subsides as soon as it's over.
The pain meds drop the pain from a 10/10 to about a 4, but I spent about 7 hours today in the strange state of sleep, although the pain doesn't quite let you get fully to sleep, so you're awake enough to know everything that's going on around you.
But thanks to all. Wasn't looking for a pity party, just figured I'd share my day with the FP family.

Not a good day, hopefully all is well now. My dad had them a few years back, and he was in bad shape for like 2 days. So I have an idea, worse way to spend 3.5 hrs: last Sundays game or kidney stones? Jk feel better buddy..
