QB Passer Ratings record

How is Manning's Passer Rating in 04-05 (121.1) higher than Brady's in 07-08 (117.2) when Brady had more yards, a higher completion percentage, more TDs, and less INTS?

It's because Brady threw more passes, 578 to 497. Here are the 4 categories:

Brady            68.86        8.31     8.65      1.38

Manning led in TD pct and yards/attempt. Brady led in completion pct and INT pct. From there it's just a question of the arbitrary multipliers they use to decide who was better overall.

That makes sense. Having 10% of your passes go for TDs is pretty impressive. But Brady's TD to INT ratio that year was astonishing.

My QB rating system: Did my team win? My QB is the greatest and I will love him forever. Did my team lose? My QB is a worthless pile of cow-dung and I hope he chokes on a doughnut.

If your team loses with your QB having a great game, but the defense didn't stop the other team and your RB lost 2 fumbles ... How is your QB related to mulch ? Does beer change the landscaping that much ?

Losing = more beer = less coherent statistics.

You're trying to use your fancy logic on beer computations. It won't work mister!

Honestly, I don't thrash the QB if he has a decent game but still loses. But if he throws a game clinching INT then I invent new swear words.

I've written an entire dictionary of swearing in the last five years. Going from my spoiled youth with Montana, Young and Garcia to middle age with Rattay, Smith and O'Sullivan has made me a bitter old man.
