NFL Week #13, Sun. Dec. 4th - Lions @ Saints Flexed into Primetime on SNF

According to the Detroit Free Press and ProFootballTalk, the tilt between the Lions and Saints on December 4th has been "flexed" out of its original 1PM timeslot into the 8:20 PM Eastern timeslot and will be televised on NBC's Sunday Night Football.

The scheduled SNF game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots has been moved to 1 PM Eastern and will be televised on CBS.

That's going to be a shootout!

Look at that GoBig! You get TWO nationally televised games!

That would be three nationally televised games.

Considering the Lions went 10 years/2 days between MNF appearances and have never before sniffed a SNF bid, three national TV games in one season is a big deal to this fanbase.

It's also nice to not be last for a change. Detroit is the 31st team to play on SNF. The only team left without a visit with Al & Cris is the Houston Texans.

The Sunday night slate is pretty strong following that week 13 game, with Cowboys-Giants, Ravens-Chargers (iffy, but likely to stay), and Packers-Bears. So Houston's best chance to get off the schneid may be week 17 against Tennessee. However, I just can't see Tennessee giving them a legit run.

Congrats to the Lions and their fans. That flexed game is well-deserved.

Hey I'm happy for the Lions. I'm a Lions fan this year except for Thursday, week 17, and if we both make the playoffs and have to play, then too.

While I'm saddened that we won't have the traditional Brady/Manning shootout to look forward to, I can certainly understand the flex. Much better game for national exposure. Good luck, gentlemen.

Awww shucks, was hoping for the steelers vs bengals game to get flexed. It was us or you gobig. Guess they went offense over defense!! This is definitely going to be a shoot out. Neither team is very good at keeping the points down on d. Both are second half teams. Should be some fireworks in this one.
